For forty years, Ombre e Luci has sought to narrate the lives and experiences of those living with and near disability, offering a fresh perspective. Born in Rome, the magazine has always been directed towards an Italian audience. At least until today! We are excited to announce the launch of the English version of our website, aiming to convey stories and testimonials gathered over the years to an international audience. A much broader one.

Thanks to the collaboration with two American universities based in Rome, Loyola University Chicago and John Cabot University, since the summer of 2023, students enrolled in Italian courses have begun breathing new life into many articles from Ombre e Luci. To date, about twenty contributions have been translated, with many more to come.

We invite you to take a look at our new English website and share it with friends and acquaintances who do not speak Italian. Help us spread it as much as possible, even on social media, via WhatsApp, and email.

Translation work is demanding, so if you know native English speakers who could voluntarily contribute to this project, encourage them to contact us. Together, we can amplify and spread a message of inclusivity and hope.
