At first, I wasn’t sure I should go, because I was having some difficulties with eating. I traveled from Rome on a coach arranged especially for us. Each of us had a suitcase, and we were settled into a hotel where we stayed overnight; in the morning we had breakfast, and during the day there was a planned schedule of activities. From Thursday to Sunday there was a continuous flow of events. It’s hard for me to write about what was said during the moments of sharing. Everything was rooted in the Gospel and in the theme of the day, “The Lord has done great things for us.” Then we visited the archaeological ruins—it was beautiful to see the place. The next day we prayed and talked about the Magnificat; I didn’t really know what to say and tried to stay on topic. All in all, it was a way of being together. The longest day was the one with the vigil, when the Gospel was read in the sanctuary. Afterwards we walked around the shops, stopped at a café, and then returned to where we were staying.
